Naidoc Day 2015
On 12th August 2015 we celebrated Naidoc Day by completing a variety of art and craft activities. We also learnt about the aboriginal culture and way of life from an aboriginal elder. We hope you enjoy our art work!
Ancient Egypt Day
During Term 3, the children have been learning about life in Ancient Egypt. The unit culminated in a day that saw many mummies, pharaohs and goddesses make an appearance at Hammondville Public School. The children enjoyed many Egyptian inspired craft activities throughout the day. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful effort with costumes.
Silkworms
Throughout Term One Stage 2 are learning about Minibeasts. We have silkworms which we are watching grow and change. We can't believe how much they eat and how quickly they are getting big and fat. We are waiting for them to start to make their cocoon. We record the changes in our silkworm diaries.
Minibeasts
Our class would like to thank the Bolger Family for bringing in a large number of insects and spiders mounted in glass for us to sketch, observe and write about. It was great to see them up close.
Harmony Day
On Wednesday 18th March our school celebrated Harmony Day and we all wore orange clothes. We talked about all the different countries people came from and how important it is to celebrate our diversity and be accepting of others.
